Funimation, Wakanim and CrunchyRoll Video Extension

This is an extension for watching videos from Funimation, Wakanim and CrunchyRoll. It is meant to be used with videos from those three streaming services. The reason is that Funimation and Wakanim use the same engine (Aria) and so they are compatible, while CrunchyRoll uses their own (Tofugu).

This extension is useful when you want to invite a group of friends and make a watch party. But it is not useful for simply watching any video and comparing the audio.

This extension allows you to join any room and watch videos from any of the three streaming services from the room. You can even invite others to join your room so they can watch with you.

By activating the extension you are signing up to the three streaming services: Funimation, Wakanim and CrunchyRoll.

Why does this extension need to be installed?

Funimation, Wakanim and CrunchyRoll offer the service to stream videos. However, they have different licensing and therefore different video files. In order to avoid confusion, it is preferable to have a single user watching from the same service, and thus this extension offers the solution for it.

The extension has a video player that is shared among the three streaming services. This video player will handle videos from different streams in a room and sync them to all the viewers in that room, regardless of which streaming service they use.

Funimation and Wakanim videos share the same audio. If a viewer has a different audio than the video they are watching, it will also be synced.
